As far as prescriptions go, I haven't found anything better than Salex Lotion. That stuff works better than anything.
Before we got the Salex, we were told by the dermatologist to use Dove Soap for sensitive skin...don't use any fabric softener...and lather up with Eucerin Lotion. That worked OK, but only cleared up the bumps about 40 - 50%, but cleared up the itching 100%.
The Salex clears the bumps up about 85% and the itching 100%.
The Salex is odorless.
I am looking :) treatmnet for Keratosis Pilaris (KP) . Can somebody help me?
yes a dermatologist can help you.or an opthamologist. certainly not a bunch of boneheads on yahoo answers.jesus what a stupid question.
Reply:i have KP, too.
my doctor prescribed sulfacet. it's a sulfur based lotion that is able to be tinted to sort of match your skin tone. i used once for acne (and it worked) also.
it's so smelly that i couldn't where it at work, but it did work a little. i haven't been to a dermatologist yet, but i plan on it. i'm not sure what else could be done beyond electrolosis to get rid of the hair once and for all (you know, since it's basically an ingrown hair)

you'd be surprised to know that many have this harmless condition. it just affects my upper arms.
what works for me is using a loofah or plastic mesh...i use it three times a week. it can be causes by restrictive clothing as well.
