I bought chinese medicine to fight the flushing in my cheeks in the winter. Is it safe and is it a con?
The people who work there recommended it to me, and she appeared to have no redness whatsoever. I think I have Keratosis Pilaris, but I just want the redness to go down. Many thanks for any answers I receive. Is this a con, or will it work? I have to take 20 PILLS in the morning and 20 at night, and also put some cream on.

Chinese medicine ( especially acupunture ) really works. The problem is : in western world can you really tell if a so-called Chinese herbalist is genuine or a con ? There are many people who had never been trained but act as familiar with Chinese herbal medicine and even prescript to any patients. On the other hand , there are really some who attended the universities in China and learn about herbal healing.
It's hard to tell but if your pills are made purely of herbs, not the western one made in a lab, it could be that you have to take 40 a day to take effect.
People don't understand Chinese medicine will think it's scary to take 40 pills a day but I'd seen 2 examples of people using Chinese medicine.
First one was a Russian guy, I met him years ago when I lived and worked in Hammersmith. He was a bald head and this made him very upset cause he's only 25 years old. He saw an ad about acupunture which could cure hair loss, he tried a few sessions, ( very expensive indeed, £25 per session of 30 minutes in 1997 ) but after a few sessions, his hair started to grow. I haven't seen him for a few year now but the last time I saw him half of his skull was covered with hair.
The second one was a friend of me who fell down from the stair at his 2 floor house. He dislocated his shoulder and was in great pain. He went to accident %26amp;emergency, they prescripted some ointment for him and told him no casting was needed as it wasn't broken. 10 days later he was still in pain. One day he passed by a Chinese herbalist shop and out of curiosity he went in, and ended up bringing home 3 bags of herbal medicines and pills and cream stuffs. He paid £40 at the time (2004), he took the medicine as instructed, 2 days later all pain gone and he's back at work.
So you see Chinese medicine really works but it depends on your luck if you meet a real herbalist or a con.

Reply:A con. Like all alternative medicine. If it works, it 'aint alternative, if it don't, it 'aint medicine!
Reply:I think you should have thought about asking that before you actually bought it hun! Seriously though, some Chinese herbal remedies are supposed to work, but I think sometimes they just act like a placebo effect! However, 40 pills plus cream a day does sound totally excessive and I think if you have to take that many things, then it sounds like a bit of a con! Do you really want to be taking that many tablets all winter?
Reply:in 1900 the average life expectancy in China was 30 - so their ancient medicines must be pretty sh1t
Reply:That sounds like way too many pills to take. As far as the product being safe you would have to know what is in the product. Some of the herbs and supplements that are sold today can cause you to have health problems. Check out the website for this product and see what it contains.
Reply:40 PILLS A DAY? you've been bamboozled
Reply:I go to a chinese herbalist for IBS and allergies- it has changed my life! I have to take a lot of pills as well but I've never felt or looked better in my life. If you've already bought the herbs and cream- try it out for a while. Photograph yourself to keep track of your progress. Best of luck!
Reply:This is a complete con matie! I suggest that you go and speak to your GP and mention that this is causing you significant concern. He/She will only be too happy to help and look at prescribing appropriate treatments. You could be putting yourself at considerable danger by taking quack medications.

Is a milk bath just milk?
I wanna get a milk bath for my arms that have keratosis pilaris so is a milk bath just milk or do u need to add something to it?
Is a milk bath just milk?
You fill your bathtub up with water. Use powdered milk to add to the water. You are not wanting to have 100% milk, even when using liquid milk you are 'adding' it to the bath water.
You then add different things. Mostly for scent or enhancements like honey, lavender, sea salt, oatmeal, etc... or by adding oils.
It should help renew your skin tissue quicker, and also exfoliate and soften your skin.
Reply:????????????????????????????????????????...
Reply:I don't think a milk bath is just milk. I'm sure there are some ingredients in there to help your skin.
Reply:What you would do is just add milk to your bath.
I don't think a tub full of milk would be as cost effective as a relatively inexpensive cream.
Reply:Not just any milk will do, you have to get the milk of a hundred hummingbirds.
Reply:A milk bath is just what it says it is, but add chocolate syrup and it is a party.
Reply:I imagine a whole bathtub full of milk would be expensive buying all that milk...
I think you would just add the milk to a regular bath. I also heard some celebrity would add a bottle of merlot wine to her bath because red wine is good antioxidant or something and also mud baths are supposed to be good for your skin.
Reply:steal about 15-20 milk bottles in he early morning from your neighbours %26amp; your sorted! ;)

What could this thing on my eye have been?
I'm not trying to be gross or make a joke, but about a month ago I noticed I had this tiny little white bump under my eyebrow, just above the crease of my eye. I thought maybe it was just a pimple, but when I tried to squeeze it nothing would come out and it wasn't red or painful so I left it alone.
I then thought maybe it was just a little skin tag (I get them other places from time to time and just cut them off.) so I left it alone to see what would happen.
Then about a week ago I was rubbing my eyes and I decided I'd had enough of the little bump, and I started scratching at it pretty vigorously, and when I did that, some little hard, white thing came out of it. It didn't bleed except for a tiny drop, and it hasn't come back at all.
What could that have been?? I also have Keratosis pilaris a little bit on my arms. I was wondering if it had anything to do with that?? Sorry if I've grossed you out.

PLEASE HELP: Home Microdermabrasion kits?
I want to invest in one and noticed the Shoppers Drug Mart has its own brand and I am wondering if anyone has tried it. Can it be used on your arms and legs? I was originally going to get the Loreal one, but then decided on the Neutrogena one because it has a hand held thingy. Does the scrubber make the microdermabrasion better than without? I really don't want to spend $60 on a kit if it is going ot be crap. The Life Brand is only 14.99 on sale this Sat and has same ingredients as Loreal and others. What should I do please help :)
It would mainly be used on my arms. I have mild keratosis pilaris and want to wear short sleeves for summer and hoping this will help :(
PLEASE HELP: Home Microdermabrasion kits?
I'm flawless so I dont know how to help you I have perfect skin good luck though
Reply:Hi there,
I wouldn't buy the Life kit... it's not a reliable brand and you dont know what's in the products and you might get break outs and irritations. Buy a more popular brand, like Neutrogena or Loreal, they are not expensive and have a lot of consumer coverage online, so you know what to expect. When it comes to your skin, money shouldn't be such an issue.
Hope this helps.

Which foundation to use?
I have keratosis pilaris on my face, which makes my cheeks really bumpy and red.
imagine: permanent goosebumps on your face, and constantly blushing.
does anyone have any foundation that works for covering this up? or just convering up really red blotchy skin helps too.
anyone else have kp?
ideas for making it less noticable.
really, any help is helpful.
also. concealer for acne scars on my chin, around my mouth?
thank you so much!
Which foundation to use?
go to any ulta, sephora, macy's, or nordstrom store %26amp; try out bare minerals by bare escentuals, to see, how this make-up works for you, before spending any money. i love it, it evens out the skintone, my daughter uses it to cover her acne.
Reply:Sheer coverage.
Reply:You should try "get even" by Benefit. It is actually a powder but when using it over your foundation, you will find that it has excellent coverage. It's great for red and blotchy skin.
Reply:Bare Minerals covers everything, the foundation acts as a concealer, you just use a different brush. It lasts all day and one pot of product lasts almost a year. It rocks. Get it at Ulta, or go try it ASAP. I love this stuff. Covers my sun spots, red broken capilaries, and anything else that happens.
Reply:I use bare essentials..... it loves my skin and my skin looks healthier today than it has ever been....
Reply:Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is made from natural ingredients and makes your skin look great!

Ok . I am getting ready to go on a school trip and its starting to get HOT out. I have a LONG upper body and i am curvy ALL over. Well i also have keratosis polaris so i need help. What can i ware thats COOL(like not to hot) that wont make people say WOW she is HUGE and make them stare at my arms. I know i shouldent care what people think but its the way i am. Dose any one have ANY advice on clothing for a chubby long upper body girl?
I need Fashion advice!?
trust me I have large upper arms to. Try a self tanner (tanning makes any one look slimmer then I suggest wearing tank tops with a cover up-whether shear or light fabric. The thicker the material the bigger you'll look. Make sure the cover-up covers your butt too-shrugs work awesome.

I have to admit, they are a little pricy but not anymore than anywhere in a mall. Good Luck
Oh, and dont wear bigger clothes than you need. wear YOUR size, other wise you'll look bigger than you really are.
Reply:Even though wearing white is much more cooler [as in temperature] than dark colors, dark colors tend to hide chubbiness. A tank usually is nice, maybe even a high halter top- but stick with navy or like colors. =]
Reply:Wear a bigger shirt that have light color
Reply:well, first of all, be proud of who u are and your body type because everyone is special i there own ways. and as for the fashion part......for the type of weather you descrbed, some bermuda shorts qould be cute alng with a short/medium cute top. make sure that the shorts are denim(if you don't have a school uniform), and the top can be your favorite color or a color that best defines your skin tone.
Reply:For the keratosis pilaris - use a lotion w/ glycolic or lactic acid to reduce the bumps. (ex. Lac Hydrin)
oldnavy.com carries plus size clothes. Consider wearing a short or 3/4 sleeve cotton t-shirt. The store also has 100% cotton blouses that might be suitable.

Good advice needed?
my daughter who is 3 has been diagnosed with keratosis pillaris, i have looked into this alot on the internet and it seems that people with this get it on arms and legs, my daughter has it on her face, which seems very unusual, has anyone else got it on their face? i am thinkng about getting a 2nd opinion as i dont believe it is kp.
Good advice needed?
You are right, take another opinion.
KP can also occur on the face.
It is more common in women than in men. Varying in degree, cases of KP can range from minimal to severe. While KP resembles goose bumps, it is characterized by the appearance of small rough bumps on the skin. As a result, it is often confused with acne.
Keratosis pilaris tends to be more severe during the winter months or other times of low humidity when skin dries out.
To treat keratosis pilaris patients can try several strategies to lessen the bumps. First, the patient can supplement the natural removal of dry skin and papules by using a loofah or another type of scrub showering or bathing. A variety of different over-the-counter (OTC) lotions, ointments, and creams can also be applied after showering while the skin is still moist and then several times a day to keep the area moist. Medicated lotions with urea, 15% alphahydroxy acids, or Retin A can also be prescribed by the dermatologist and applied one to two times daily. Systemic (oral) medications are not prescribed for keratosis pilaris. However if papules are opened and become infected, antibiotics may be necessary to treat the infection.
Since keratosis pilaris is thought to be a genetic disorder and is observed in several members of the same family, there is nothing that can be done to prevent this disorder. Following the treatment advice above can alleviate the outward characteristics of keratosis pilaris.
Reply:Keratosis pilaris is particularly common in teenagers on the upper arms. It may occur in babies where it tends to be most obvious on the cheeks. It may remain for years but generally gradually disappears usually before age 30. Keratosis pilaris is unsightly but completely harmless. It is usually worse during the winter months or other times of low humidity when skin dries out, and may worsen during pregnancy or after childbirth.
Treatment of keratosis pilaris is not necessary, and unfortunately often has disappointing results. With persistence, most people can get very satisfactory improvement. Initial treatment should be intensive moisturizing. Try a cream such as Acid mantle, Vaseline or Complex 15 after bathing, and re-apply the cream again several times daily.
If this does not help, change to a medicated cream containing urea (Carmol, Vanomide, U-Kera, Ultra Mide, Nutraplus) or alpha-hydroxy acids (Aqua Glycolic, Lacticare) applied twice daily - it may be too irritating to use more often. More aggressive home treatment can be done if ones skin can tolerate it. The plugged pores can be removed by taking long, hot soaking tub baths and then rubbing the areas with a coarse washcloth, stiff brush, or 'Buf-Puf'.
Prescription medicines that may help include antibiotics (Erythromycin, Bactrim) if the spots are very red and Tazorac Cream. Tazorac, a relative of vitamin A, may cause irritation in some people.
Reply:When children get a skin problem it is usually on their face. Most sites deal with adults more than juevenille issues.

How to get rid of bumps on neck and arms???
I dont know if i have a condtion called keratosis pilaris or not. Its a condtion when i have bumps on arms and neck. In the book, it says i have to exfoliat my neck and arms twice a week? When will it go away if i do this?
How to get rid of bumps on neck and arms???
i have small bumps on the back of my arms which i believe is the same as what you have. I usually use bath and body works "in the mood for scrub" and it works great! use that then apply lotion after you shower and for the most part they'll be gone a day or two.
(just do this about 3 times a week)
Reply:My dermatologist told me to use a lotion called Amlactin cream!! You do not have to have a prescription for it, but u have to ask the pharmacist for it!! They keep it behind the counter. It cost like $10!! My derma. says it takes a while to go away, you have to be patient. I have been using the lotion for 3 weeks now and i can see a difference, but it is not gone yet!!

Reply:glycolic acid or low dose of salicycic acid. exfoliate or scrub skin. stay out of sun. there is no cure. it reoccurs thruout life.
Reply:Check out http://www.helpforkp.com/ and talk to a dermatologist to see if you have this "condition". I have it and just deal with it. It's part of just being yourself and dealing with the fact that you have bumps... It's not contagous and it's not life threatening.

Reply:It's razor burn, and it will go away. If you decide to keep up with this (because it's going to itch REALLY bad as it grows back), I suggest Nair or Veet next time, no razor burn, just some minor irritation from the hair remover.
Reply:It's called razor burn and it will go away. Itches, doesn't it?
Reply:it will just be a shaving rash lol
Reply:silly billy...it's just razor burn.

Applying powder will help.
Reply:its probably just razor burn not keratosis pilaris ,whatever that is good luck i hope it doesn't itch when it comes back in

Reply:No worries, they will go away but when the hair starts growing back...OUCH!
Applying powder will help.
Reply:its probably just razor burn not keratosis pilaris ,whatever that is good luck i hope it doesn't itch when it comes back in
Reply:lmao
Reply:That's razor burn, but the worst part is INGROWN HAIRS!
Use some vitamin E oil and aloe vera, it'll make you feel better. It will also heal much quicker.

Do you REALLY CARE if you LOVE HER?
Girls are welcome to answer this one too.
I was just wondering would you guys even care if the girl you really like/love has a certain skin condition such as keratosis pilaris (kp)?
Or would you just accept her and still love her the way she is?
This question includes the rest of the imperfections we girls are insecure about out there. Thanks. =)
Do you REALLY CARE if you LOVE HER?
Ofcourse! There are people with MUCH more extreme skin disorders out there, and they find/keep love. If someone doesn't want to accept you for who and how you are, you DON'T need him in your life. Period. He is not mature enough to be in a relationship anyway, if he is so concerned about shallow things like that. Seriously. =)
Reply:Huh uh.
Reply:no if you really care it does not matter what imperfections they have .... as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder
Reply:If they love you, they're going to love you anyway. If they don't they weren't worth it anyway.
Reply:i have exima (not sure on the spelling) and my friends dont care.
Reply:Oh my gosh i have that same skin condition i think u should love her no matter what..but if she wants help go to a dermatologist and ask for ketoconazole shampoo for your face it really helps out alot and only use a certain type of lotion the doctor prescribes everyday..my face is completly fine now...well good luck
Reply:If i was a guy which I'm not i would still love her just the way she was because under that skin thingy is a sweet girl that u fell in love with
Reply:accept and love :)
Reply:sometimes being insecure about something becomes a bigger obstacle then the actual problem. If you can't change it, live with it, yes, but of course love will remain!

Tiny red dots all over my arms...?
I've had these tiny red dots all over my arms, pretty much all my life. Anyways, I was researching it, and i found some skin condition called Keratosis Pilaris, and it matches everything i have, so i'm pretty sure thats it. I was just wondering though, is that something important that i should go to the doctor for, because there don't bother me, so is there any need to go to the doctor for it?
Tiny red dots all over my arms...?
ihave the exact same thing except mine bothered me... not like itching or anything i just wanted to get rid of them you know? i went to the derm and she said it was Keratosis Pilaris just like you said... she gave me some creme to reduce them and it helps. theres no real cure to get rid of them forever but theres nothing health hazardous about it... the worst thing it would do is bother you cause you dont have smoothy smooth arms but other then that no need to worry... and no need to go to the doctor unless you want creme to get rid of them... hope that helps! :)
Reply:Just go to the doctor and ask. Sometimes a seemingly innocuous condition can contribute to health problems later on.
Reply:It might be exima tho....check into that to.....
Reply:It's not really a health issue. A dermatologist can help you get rid of it.
Reply:my friend noel has that, i think you should go to a dermatologist or allergen doctor. your probably allergic to sumthing, like the sun.
Reply:IF YOU'VE HAD THEM ALL OF YOUR LIFE, YOUR PROBABLY OK. IF YOU JUST GOT THEM, THEN I'D SAY GO TO THE DR.

Part of my arm has a skin patch that feels like goose bumps?
I already know what Keratosis Pilaris is, I have it on my upper arms.
On my arm there is a patch of skin a bit bigger than a half dollar coin.
The skin isn't really that bumpy, but it looks like goose bumps. What is it and how can I get rid of it? It has been there for around 3 years.

My son had that on his chest for years. We could never figure out what it was. I suspect it was eczema. We tried all kinds of creams and ointments. It eventually went away on its own. If it is really bothering you, you might want to see a dermatologist.
Reply:I have that too! But i have NO CLUE what it is.

Red bumps on arms?
On my upper arms and upper legs, I have bumps. They arent like the Keratosis Pilaris bumps because I've actually looked at pictures of that...these are totally different. Right NOW i have several of them on my arms(say 20 or so) but they are barely there. But I do have two-four of them that are just as big and ugly as pimples. What are they? And how do i get rid of them
PS:PLEASE HELP!
Red bumps on arms?
You may want to see a dermatologist. They could be an allergic reaction to something.
Reply:it could possibly be razor burn if you shave, in that case it'll take about 3 days to go away on its own. you could also be alergic to a detergant for your clothes, or if you changed any kind of body wash. other that those things im not sure what it could be. also some people are alergic to the comfort strips on razors. the ones with the aloe and vitamin e. i know this because im alergic to them. and when i first get new razors i wash off this strip and i stopped getting the rashes
Reply:Hi omg I have them 2 but not as big as zits!
My dad is going 2 take me 2 a skin doc. and see wut they r maybe u should try that.
Good Luck

Reply:I have this same thing, but just on my arms. I've had it since i can remember. But ever since i started using a lufa scub. (This scratchy sponge thing) It's helped dramastically. It's really starting to clear up. so try this. Good luck!

Best anti redness cream?
I don't wanna spend to much on it - I'm only 15 and I'm pretty sure I have Keratosis Pilaris - it's not the bumps I'm concerned about, it's the fact my cheeks burn up sometimes, especially at night. Anything recommended?
Best anti redness cream?
Fresh Farmacy facewash bar from LUSH is good for redness, its around £5/$10 for a good sized chunk that lasts 2 months. Have a look on Google for the website and check it out
Reply:Are you sure you don't have Rosacea which also causes redness? Rather than making assumptions about the cause it would be better to talk to your Doctor for a proper assessment and advice about treatment. There are moisturising creams available that have a green tinge to counteract redness but first you really ought to understand the cause.
Reply:I had an awfull red rash across my forehead for which i tried everything, even strong steroid creams from my GP, but then i found 'dream cream'. it's sold in lush and my skin has completely cleared!! its just under a tenner but last ages and i think it is worth every penny.
Reply:You'll want something with alpha hydroxy acids to help exfoliate the skin. There are serum's out there with this ingredient-check around. However, if it is rosacea, you will find products with this ingredient actually flair up your skin problem. I use a facial set with the alpha hydroxy acids (it helps the skin cells slough off). If you have rosacea there are a couple other products to treat this that Arbonne makes (they work great). If you would like a sample or more information about this product, let me know.

Favorite Skin Products.?
Could you tell me about your favorite skin products ever? Something you couldnt live without. For any purpose.. acne, exfoliation, moisture......Why is it your favorite? Where could I get it......
also... if you know anything about:
this skin condition I have called Keratosis Polaris. (red bumps on arms)
I went to the doctor and shed told me I'd grow out of it and thats how god created me ( I hate my doctor)
Anything that I could use on that to make it less noticeable, Ive been trying to get rid of it for years...
Thanks.

shame on your doctor who told you to live w/ it. you can treat it %26amp; reduce its appearance by DAILY using amlactin lotion. this is a non-prescription product. you will notice a difference w/i 2 weeks. if you go to another doctor, ask for SALEX 6% lotion. it is a 6% salicylic lotion that will work a little faster (%26amp; better) than the amlactin lotion. this condition worsens in the winter (b/c dry skin). some doctors recommend retinoids like retin-A, but this can be too drying for some patients.
good luck!
Reply:I love Curel lotion, it works on dry skin for a long time and you can get it at Walgreens or CVS.
Reply:For me, it would be my LUSH products - coalface and Enzymion. coalface is the facial cleanser and enzymion is the facial moisturiser. I get quite greasy combo skin and it always keeps me shine free and that's why I love it. Their products are all natural and cater to sensitive skin so you could give them a go? Also I know Simple and Burts Bees are supposed to be good for sensitive skin so you can give them a go too. Hope that helps.

Bumps on outer side of arms?
hi,
i've been having these bumps on the outer side of my upper arms for months now. i'm suspecting it's either razor bumps or keratosis pilaris. i didn't quite bother about it at first, thinking it's some rash that'll go away. these tiny bumps don't itch and aren't red.. they're skin colour.
anyone has any idea what they are?
if yes, how to treat them too. i really need to cure it. i can't go out of the house wearing a tank top anymore.
it might be cause my old shaving blade was kinda blunt.. and i didn't quite know how to shave that time. i'll stop shaving my upper arms for now to monitor the difference.
please help! thanks
Bumps on outer side of arms?
just dont shave your arms
Reply:I had those as well... It's just very small hair groing in, not just because of shaving, your arm moves against you body permanently, and 'shaves' those little hair off. I washed these spots with a rough material and put body cream on... it disappeared

How do you get rid of face bumps? HELP PLEASE!?
i have these bumps on my cheeks... they are not acne, and they never go away. The only time they go away is when i go on vacation because of the climate change. I beleive they are called "keratosis piloris", better known as chicken skin. Does anyone know how to get rid of them? I have tried so many things...
How do you get rid of face bumps? HELP PLEASE!?
Pretty close - it's keratosis pilaris. Alpha hydroxy acid moisturizers are good for this, as is Retin-A and similar prescription products. Good is a relative term - it's difficult to treat and you have to keep up with the treatment or it comes right back.

Help me become healthier?
Hi There
You also really need to consider suggestions I make below (at least the first 3), regardless of the issue. This gives the body time to heal the issue without having to digest meat. dairy, manmade chemicals, preservatives, etc.
Here is a list of important health topics people dont realize or take for granted and thus causes issues.
1. stress = most of it is self induced. Even thinking and actually talking about negative means you attact more negative energy. Visualize and "Feel" a healthy beautiful body (end result) and you'll have it before you know it.
Once the body breaks down from stress then its much easier to get sick or unhealthy for that matter.
Obviously exercise helps manage this issue tremendously!
2. Lack of water. Drink a gallon of distilled water to hydrate the body and flush out the excess waste and toxins out of the blood.
3. Nutrition = this helps heal the body and will gives it energy to work on the internal issues. Mainly raw organic fruit and vegetables. If you only ate organic raw F %26amp; V for 7-10 days and drank distilled water you would see a change in your energy and be on your way to better health. Letting the body rest from digesting meats, dairy, and processed foods would do wonders for you.
4. clogged colon = Not eliminating the processed food and chemicals we eat every day will give anyone an illness and/or disease. If doctors we're actually taught this, our society would be much improved. DO a colon cleanse first, then do a liver cleanse to improve your organ functions to help fix any issue you have. Your health will improve tremedously after you do this step (continue to do it every quarter).
Best of health to you

I also have keratosis pilaris and have not found anything that seems to help. I have it on my arms and legs, and the only thing that comes close to helping is exfoliating in the shower and then using Olay Quench for Extra dry skin

Ok, so I need makeup help..?
My problem is I have keratosis pilaris (chicken skin) on my face, which makes my face bumpy and bright red. So I need a coverup that is natural but covers it up so its smooth. I also need some concealer for under eye circles, and a pretty light mascara. Bare in mind I am young, please any help? Thanks.
Ok, so I need makeup help..?
I like covergirl foundations. I also have dark eye circles. It doesn't really matter what brand, but make sure that you go a tone lighter than your skin tone. Once you put a light coat on, cover it with a sheer powder. For the mascara, you could go with a brown color.
Reply:I'd use Maybelline cover-up, the liquid kind. it's available for pretty cheap, anywhere. The grocery store like Shoprite or Publix, or drugstore like Walgreens or CVS.
Good luck!
Reply:A good foundation and concealer that i use is by smashbox. The liquid foundation works really well and the concealer does too for under eye circles. the best mascara I have used is by Shiseido.
Reply:Have you asked your dermatologist what you can do to fix this skin condition without makeup? You may need to control it using medicated creams and such. But if you're looking for a concealer, I love Makeup Forever's cream concealer (found at Sephora stores). Tinted moisturizer is also nice, or you can try Benefit's industrial strength concealer.
I think you should talk to a dermatologist about what can be done. There may be a solution to this problem that will be a lot more beneficial for your skin than make up and fix it in the long run.
Reply:I would try Bare Ecsentuals. It is very light, but gives good coverage. I have had good luck with it and it comes in lots of colors. I'm afraid a liquid make up would crack and look fake on your skin. I really like the mineral veil that smooths everything out and it doesn't seem to settle or crack where skin is uneven. I don't know if they have a good concealer or not. In all actuality, I have never found a concealer that actually works. I have "racoon" eyes and have just learned to live with them.

Small white bumps on arm?
Just a few days ago I noticed a small red patch on my inner forearm. Thinking it was just some kind of scrape from a rough surface I didn't pay much attention to it. But when I noticed that there were little bumps I got kind of freaked out.
At first I thought they were pimples or zits which I thought was very odd seeing as how it just randomly appeared as a blotch on my forearm. But now they are raised, white and hard. It does not itch at all unless I intentionally apply force to rub/scratch it.
I'm pretty sure it isn't Keratosis pilaris as it is not red nor is it spread out over my entire arm.
This is what it looks like:
http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff216...
My mum told me to put some hydrogen peroxide and polysporin on it until we can get an appointment with the doctor. And right now I can tell it's a little bit irritated.
Please, I will be most grateful for any help at all.

I absolutely agree with Sprintgirlracing. It seems the topical form of herpes zoster. Try to keep it clean and wash your hands everytime you touch it as it may appear in other areas of your body with contact. This applies also for contact with other persons.
It may be a bit painful (just a discomfortable pain, nothing horrible!) and itchy but try to remain calm and wait for your appoitment. I wouldn't put anything in it for the time being.
Most likely, if ot really is herpes zoster, you'll have to be on some antiviral for some days.
Just be attentive as it may spread to a larger area around.
Have you had the chickenpox? If u have already had it, this means that, for some reason, the virus (which stays dorment in your body for, in theory, always) has become active.

I dealt with it by using common sense, and in an unconventional manner!
I popped those little sh*ts open, and removed any extra skin, then I rubber the area raw with gauze using plenty of alcohol it burned "so sweet", then after sterilizing the wound, I covered it for some time, then went at it again with alcohol. After like two days of messing with it I simply kept the area clean but uncovered so that it could dry up. Within days it was gone without a scar. I actually forgot about it completely until your picture reminded me!

Most likely, it's some kind of skin condition which will be treated with a topical cream. These kind of things happen to teenagers all the time and if it doesn't pass immediately after the treatment with the cream, it will in a year or two.
Relax, don't worry about it and have faith that the doctor will do his job right. And good luck!

It meant that if you were playing sports, and maybe someone who had it grabbed your arm or something when you once had a scratch there or broken skin. A doctor will help you with this, but for now, keep it well moisturized, covered (band-aid, gauze/tape), and put some kind of ointment on it after washing it. Don't scratch or rub it, don't bother it, and anytime you touch it, wash your hands throughly to avoid passing it around - if it is what it might be. Until your doctor gives you a concrete answer, be nice to the rash and take as many precautions as you think you can. Also, make a log about its appearance, when it showed, how it's changed, and how it feels each day. It might be a benefit in the diagnosis.

Problems with the Skin?
I need someone's help. My skin is suffering from a lot of conditions. First, I have KERATOSIS PILARIS condition on both of my upper arms and a few on my chest. On both of my lower arms, I have a few scars and things which are circular that when you pop them, fluid/blood comes out. I need help; would diamond peel help me alleviate the presence of these; specifically the scars which are also present in my face? thanks...serious answers please-and do base them on your experiences with such treatments.
ps. Pls dont answer see the dermatologist-of course I would! I've consulted some and one said peeling is the key...but i need some guarantee.
Problems with the Skin?
KERATOSIS PILARIS Is diet related /peeling has been the key for some but returns. Peeling is only dealing with symptoms not causative factors. Autoimmune malfunction,,,,, Elimination diet is best way to go. Feel free to E-mail

There are many cheap and effective home remedies for acne. Tomato slices, turmeric, papaya juices and home made face packs will treat existing pimples and prevent further problems. More remedies at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
Reply:No I don't have that problem. Talk to a dermatologist, they can prescribe something to help I'm sure.
Reply:This is the start of something I call looking to deep beauty is more than skin deep don't worry about it if anyone mentions it ignore them this isn't a permanent problem though it may come it will go,my family always called it sweat bumps caused by sweat(anxiety) or fear of what every one thinks.....
Reply:Yes I have the same problem, even I thought the its KP. But I got it check with a skin speicalist, who told me it folliclitus. Its occurs due to waxing etc.....Doc told me to go thru some test.....After taking medication it stopped completely. But I do have marks on my thigh for which I'm applying some cream....................please consult your doc
Reply:maybe they're ingrown hairs, happens when you wax or shave. the hair grows in crooked, then gets caught up with oil and other unpleasantries. just wash your butt a bit more, thats what i would do.
Reply:You may have to exfoliate your skin. Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin. There are products at the Walgreens and CVS that will do this. You will also have to use a loofah sponge.
Reply:Just a Little heads up. Tight jeans or other clothing will cause hairs to break off and become ingrown or infected.
Other causes of this type thing. If you over crowd your washing machine th esoap does not get rinsed out good and it can cause you to break out. Changing laundry soap and softener can cause you to break out. It could also have something to do with the bath soap and the shampoo you use (if you wash your hair while you shower). Perfumes. Shaving. Never us a razor that anyone else has used you can get a bad infection from that, and it will cause you to break out. Sharing a razor can cause blood poisoning even

Can you use calmurid cream on your face?
I have keratosis pilaris. Doctor diagnosed me last year. I have been using calmurid cream on my arms and legs since then. However now I have developed it on my cheeks. She said continue using the cream you have but when I got home the leaflet didn't say anything about using it on your face.
Can you use calmurid cream on your face?
How does it work?
This cream contains the active ingredients urea and lactic acid. It is used to moisturise and rehydrate dry, scaly skin.
Dry skin results from lack of water in the outer layer of skin cells known as the stratum corneum. When this layer becomes dehydrated it loses its flexibility and becomes cracked, scaly and sometimes itchy. The stratum corneum contains natural water-holding substances, including urea, which retain water seeping up from the deeper layers of the skin. Water is also normally retained in the stratum corneum by a surface film of natural oil (sebum) and broken-down skin cells, which slow down evaporation of water from the skin surface.
The skin dries out when too much water evaporates from its surface. This increases as we get older, and is made worse by washing, because hot water and soap remove the layer of natural oil on the skin surface.
When urea is applied to the skin it penetrates the stratum corneum, where it readily absorbs and retains water. This increases the capacity of the skin to hold moisture, and the skin therefore becomes rehydrated.
Lactic acid is known as a keratolytic. When applied to the skin it breaks down keratin, which is a protein that forms part of the skin structure. In conditions such as chronic eczema and ichthyosis, excessive amounts of keratin causes the skin cells to harden, and makes the skin become thickened and scaly. Lactic acid breaks down the keratin in the hardened and thickened skin, helping to shed skin cells from the area to which it is applied, and soften and improve the appearance of dry, scaly skin. This action also improves the ability of the urea to penetrate the skin and rehydrate it.
The moisturising base of this cream also provides a layer of oil on the surface of the skin, which helps prevent water from evaporating from the skin surface.
What is it used for?
* Inherited, non-inflammatory dryness and scaling of the skin (ichthyosis, xeroderma)
* Other dry, scaly skin disorders
Warning!
* This preparation is for external use only.
* If you experience stinging when applying this medicine and this prevents you using it, the medicine can be diluted with an equal quantity of aqueous cream for a week of treatment. After this time you should be able to use it undiluted. Seek further advice from your pharmacist.
* Avoid contact of this medicine with the eyes and the moist membranes lining the inside of certain parts of the body, eg mouth, nasal passages (mucous membranes).
Not to be used in
* Known sensitivity or allergy to any ingredient
This medicine should not be used if you are allergic to one or any of its ingredients. Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have previously experienced such an allergy.
If you feel you have experienced an allergic reaction, stop using this medicine and inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Certain medicines should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. However, other medicines may be safely used in pregnancy or breastfeeding providing the benefits to the mother outweigh the risks to the unborn baby. Always inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, before using any medicine.
* There are no known harmful effects when this medicine is used during pregnancy.
* This preparation may be used safely by breastfeeding mothers, providing it is not applied to the breasts prior to breastfeeding. This will avoid ingestion by the infant.

What are these bumps on my legs?
I have little bumps that look like acne on my legs fron my knee upwards and occasionally on my buttocks.
They look like acne. I can pop them and pus comes out. It don't think it's fron shaving my legs because even if I don't shave I get them. Sometimes even more so them when I go shaved. They don't itch. They don't seem to be ingrown hair. And they tend to appear more in summer than in winter.
I know it is NOT keratosis Pelosis.
Thanks.. Please help!
What are these bumps on my legs?
They may be ingrown hairs--I get something similar--although you say they don't seem to be. Try moisturizing with a water (not oil)-based moisturizer. They also could appear more from sweating, if you wear pants often in the summer, for example. What I've learned from personal experience with weird skin issues is keeping skin clean, moisturized, and well-ventilated is usually the best policy, except in cases of extreme medical problems.
Reply:maybe your allergic to the kind of cream you shave with
Reply:it's most likely a couple of hair bumps prevent by washing really well with witch's hazel
Reply:Ingrown hairs.
Reply:Could be any number of things. But very well may be just clogged pores, like the acne people get on thier faces. Try exoliating, cleansing and moisturizing. If that does not work you might want to consult your doctor or a dermotologist.

Exfoliation question . . . ?
I have keratosis pilaris, or chicken skin. I've been reading all about it and you're supposed to use an exfoliator, and I was just wondering if anybody knew of one that worked well.
Exfoliation question . . . ?
I love the one I use - it's a Thermal Fusion Masque from Arbonne. I love all their products and just started selling them. You could view my website at http://www.healthydecisons4u.myarbonne.c... You want to go to the Intelligence Skin Care Set and read about the second step. It contains a papaya enzyme and many included ingredients have been used on burn victims skin. If you have any other questions, you can e-mail me at healthydecisions4u@myarbonne.com Good luck!
Reply:you can use salt, sand anything grain....and you can get some shea coco butter to really smooth things out
Reply:clinique
Reply:infinite aloe has skin care products that are perfect for your condition.
Reply:Try St. Ives apricot scrub. It's really cheap, can be purchased just about everywhere, and is really effective.
Good Luck
Reply:St Ive's has a good one
Reply:You need something that is of very high quality and natural, I highly recommend Bee Luscious Cosmetics they are amazing and helpful. I use and love the Papaya enzyme skincare line it is 100% natural and it balances your skin.. Search for them and ask for more info....
They are not a multi level like other companys advertising around the answers.. be careful of those products they irritated and broke me out, thank God I found Bee Luscious though... Good Luck

Has anyone tried the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion System?
I would like to invest in one, but would like to know how they work and if they really work? Is it really worth the money? It will be used for keratosis pilaris. I have a mild case, but I am self conscious about it and heard microdermabrasion works.
Has anyone tried the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion System?
havent bought the neutrogena one, but bought the l'oreal one.... the one that comes in the silvery grey box
my advice - GET IT
coz ure only gonna use a little bit each time (and u only use it once a week) it will keep for ages. i bought mine in august 2005, its may 2007 and ive still got it .....
yes, my skin has improved, because the conventional exfoliators taht u buy in the shops dont work half as well as my microdermabrasion kit. honest!
get it - its worth every penny.
my skin is much softer than it was before
cant comment on the neutrogena one, havent even heard of it, but i give 5/5 for the l'oreal one
go for it!!!
Reply:I FINALLY got one %26amp; it took me a while to make the purchase too but I made up my minde to get one because Yes, they ARE good for your skin %26amp; its a great way to exfoliate your skin. If you were to go to a day spa they would tell you to that you should come in once a month for a dermabrasion so I think you should get one if you really want it because sometimes going to a day spa can REALLY get expensive %26amp; then the days you can't go you will be happy to know that you can get a great facial by yourself at home! They're worth it!
Reply:Hi,
I have tried the Neutrogena microdermabrasion kit and I liked it alot. It helped my skin look fresher and some of my scars are less visible now. I think it was one of the best buys I've ever made from all at-home microderma kits I've tried in the last few years. It is definitely worth the money! I dint know how good will it work on keratosis, but I have a strong it will be effective.
My tip is not to over massage the cream with the applicator, the crystals are harsh even if you don't feel it and you might end up with irritations and damaged skin. One minute per area (forehead, cheeks, chin) is more than enough. And remember to use a follow-up replenishing cream before going to bed, your skin really needs it.
Hope this helps and good luck.

Where can I find Am-Lactin?
I live in Rowland Heights, CA.
Can I get this product at Walmart, Rite-Aid, Sams Club.
or somewhere other than online?
One other thing, i have Keratosis Pilaris (rough, bumpy skin).
Do you guys recommend this product, %26amp;does it really work?
Where can I find Am-Lactin?
Because it is not a big seller most stores do not have it on the open shelf. A lot of drug stores have it behind the pharmacists counter even though it is not a prescription. It is available through every wholesale in the country so if you ask your pharmacist or store manager they can get it for you.
It works pretty well for most people with KP. However, some need an even higher strength formulation -- speak to your dermatologist if it's not doing the job well enough.

I had an allergic reaction to a cosmetic wipe. What can I do to help it?
Ugh, okay, so I bought these new cosmetic wipes, which supposedly help keep your skin blemish free (I do not have acne, I bought them for my Keratosis Pilaris on my arms because it had 'Lactic Acid' in the ingredients, which isn't exactly what I would describe as 'bad' compared to the pictures I've seen, but I was just wondering if it would help...) I used one on my face, and when I woke up in the morning, my face had a rash and it was hot and itchy and a bit swollen, too. The heat and itching is only mild now, but it's still as red as ever. I have a college interview tomorrow, and looking like this will probably knock my confidence and I'll do worse than I would of in the interview than if I didn't have it, I know, pretty stupid of me, I'm regretting buying them at all.
I was just wondering if there was anything besides anti-inflammatory cream (which we don't have) I could use on my face, to make the redness go away, or at least lessen, do you think I should try ice?

take a benedryll, and apply a hydrocortisone cream(like what's used for poinson ivy).
Reply:you can try HYTONE 1%. apply it very thinly on your face for as long as the rash is there. use it once maybe, duting sleeping time.

Normal skin?
I have keratosis polaris, a disorder in which the skin produces and over-abundance of keratin protein. This clogs the pores and makes skin rough, and creates little red bumps all over the skin. My condition is limited to my back and upper arms. My doctor told me to take Tetracycline, an antibiotic to treat it. It clears it up some, but even while on it, I still have bad breakout days. Can anyone tell me how to have normal, clear skin?
Normal skin?
there is actually a lotion for it. I think its called lact-hydrin....i don't know how to spell it exactly but its something along those lines. I have it also. Its just on my upper arms. Good luck.

I have these small red dots on my arm, how do I treat it? Should I be worried?
I used to have just one or two but in the last 1 - 2 years they have really multiplied on my upper arm, and have since spread slowly to the rest of my body. I have Google Imaged "red spots", but I haven't really found something that exactly matches what I have. I don't think it's Keratosis pilaris. My red spots are really small, and are not bumpy. The are a darkish red and don't really have an exact shape, they are not circles. Any help?

I have keratosis pilaris and if they are not itchy or painful, dont go away-it probably is. But see a doc or dermatologist to verify.
Try using an exfoliating scrub, such as "yes to carrots body scrub" and lots of lotion right after the shower that contains a lot of nutrients-especially vit A and E. Apply the lotion 2 x per day. I saw a reduction within a week.
Reply:Could be an allergy, hives etc...could also be from stress, changing of eating habits, change in exercise routine etc...try some vitamin e on it and aloe. If no avail, ask your doc - they'll know asap!
Reply:Red spots...could be anything from hives to black plague. get a check-up.

I have a painful rash - can someone advise me?
I have a rash on my right thigh, buttocks and lower back, it is spreading up my back too. I saw a GP and she said it was normal - Keratosis Pilaris (sp?) (tiny reddish goosebumps/tiny blisters) however, it feels dry and prickly, and the muscle underneath burns and I get a pressure sensation there before the rash appears. It is red, the intensity of redness varies throughout the day. my skin is tender to touch (like as if it were injured). Can anyone help?
Has anyone else experienced similar?
I have a painful rash - can someone advise me?
To put it sensitively you may have what sounds like cellulitis. Basically, cellulitis is a skin rash caused by a bacteria that infects the top layer of your skin called the dermis. Your skin is crying out to you that something is invading it. The best course of action is to take an oral antibiotic if this is in fact the diagnosis.
I suggest you seek a second opinion and if you find it continuing to spread, you can always visit the emergency room for a quick remedy.
Reply:I have never experienced this kind of problem but I would recommend getting a second opinion, preferably from a dermatologist. I don't know if your insurance requires you to start with your GP before going to a specialist like the dermatologist but let them know that you would like to get an opinion from them
Reply:Sounds like it could be scabies, not sure though. maybe staying away from hookers is advisable.
Reply:Go to a dermatologist, its not normal, most people do not have it and just living with pain is not an option.
Reply:You might want to try something with eucalyptus. I use Special Attention Cream from Warm Spirit on any type of rash or bite, especially during the hot months. Here is the site I order from:

Hi There
You also really need to consider suggestions I make below (at least the first 3), regardless of the issue.

Ammonium lactate?
I was prescribed this for my keratosis..... red bumpy arms....lol
and I was wondering if this is the best cream, I have beeen using for over a year and am only now seeing imporvement, if not, what are the better creams? and where can I find?
Ammonium lactate?
hello Kasipo,
ammonium lactate is a very mild exfoliant for the skin.......and should not cause you any problems.....but there is a water soluable ointment on the market called Kera.Sal ( all one word )
that comes in a 15gm tube and works really well...their website is www.Kerasal.com.
this ointment is a very effective exfoliant for your dry patchy areas of your skin....one thing you should remember is do not apply it to any red open areas of skin as this could irritate or make your conditiion worse, but believe me, it is very effective.
i really want to wish you the best of luck with this product...i really like it and i know you will, too !!

Whats the best cure for KP?
kp = keratosis pilaris. Its all over my arms and i can't get em out.
Whats the best cure for KP?
This was borrowed from webmd.com %26amp; I've put the link into the source below for you. Hope it helps.
Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris (commonly called KP) appears as "chicken skin bumps" on the skin. These bumps usually appear on the upper arms and thighs. They also can appear on the cheeks, back and buttocks. Keratosis pilaris, while unattractive, is harmless.
What Are the Symptoms of Keratosis Pilaris?
This disorder appears as small, rough bumps. The bumps are usually white or red, but do not itch or hurt. Keratosis pilaris is usually worse during the winter months or other times of low humidity when skin becomes dry. It also may worsen during pregnancy or after childbirth.
How Is Keratosis Pilaris Treated?
Although the condition may remain for years, it gradually disappears before age 30 in most cases. Treatment of keratosis pilaris is not medically necessary; but, individuals with this condition may want to seek treatment for cosmetic reasons.
The initial treatment of keratosis pilaris should be intensive moisturizing. A cream such as Acid Mantle, Vaseline or Complex 15 can be applied after bathing, and then re-applied several times a day. Other treatments may include:
Medicated creams containing urea (Curel, Carmol-20) or alpha-hydroxy acids (Aqua Glycolic, Lacticare) applied twice daily
Efforts to unplug pores by taking long, hot soaking tub baths and then rubbing the areas with a coarse washcloth or stiff brush
Prescription medicines including antibiotics (Erythromycin, Bactrim)

Sounds like bug bites in bed! Examine your bed for them!

Skin Care??
What is the best, fastest, most affective thing to use for acne? I want something that will work extremely fast. And also, what is something I can use for Keratosis Pilaris? Price doesn't matter but I want to be able to buy these things at Wal-Mart or Target, or some other store like that.
Skin Care??
Each body is different; what works fro me it might not for you. Try Wichthazel: clean the acne area at night, dry it then put some Wichthszel on a cotton ball and "clean" that area several times with it, each time letting it dry.
As for the the other, consult a pharmacist at either store. It should eb able to suggest/recommend some product from over the counter.
Reply:i heard proactive works great
Reply:Try 100% Tea Tree Oil. The irritation will decrease and your skin becomes clear in a few days.
Reply:proactive is a good product if you have serious acne, glycerin soap works pretty fast and good too, clearasil ice wash worked really good for but thats just for a few zits here and there not nessearly for acne but it works nicely, hope this was some help =)
Reply:acne is a result of overactive sebaceous glands, so you need to work from the insude out. i would suggest going to your dematologist and asking for a topical creme such as clynamicin, along with tetracyclin is a pill that you should use in combination. once your skin is under control using these two suplements, move on to long term skin care. i suggest for maintenance dr. haushka's line. very important also is getting facials. they are can ranger from $45-90, but the results are worth it. when you see the estatician, ask for extractions. estaticians give your skin the deep cleaning it really needs.
For the keratosis, neutrogena has a great bump reducing lotion that has alpha-hydroxy in it. alpha-hydroxy lotion is great for treatment.

Dr Frank I think I have a skin condition - can you help?
I think I have Keratosis Pilaris - is it possible to get 10% urea cream on prescription - or 6% Salycilic acid (I think that's how it's written)
Can I get this on prescription - I'm desperate - PLEASE answer if it's possible - good karma will come your way if you do - Thank you so much
Also - how would an NHS A%26amp;E surgeon determine death? Like what procedure would he follow?
Dr Frank I think I have a skin condition - can you help?
If your GP agrees with your diagnosis, and agrees with treatment you think will help,he could write a prescription out. Any cream or ointment can be made up specifically for you by any chemist.
As far as I know, it's when they can no longer get any output ie not breathing, heart stops and pupils fixed(not reacting to light etc). They would try to get your heart going again. I'm sure you've seen it on casualty, when they put pads on the chest and give them an electrical jolt to get the heart going again. They would assist breathing mechanically. If there is no response to all this work and the patient's pupils were fixed (usually meaning brain death), then they would stop trying to resuscitate.
Reply:Second question first, it is easier. There are standard ways of confirming death.
Check the pupils, they will be fixed and dilated.
Check the chest for breath sounds.
Check the heart sounds, listening for 2 minutes.
Eucerin is 10 % urea
Salycilic acid in white soft paraffin can be made up, as what is called a special.

thats kind of what my skin looks like..
gross right? its not as bad as that though and its not as red as that. what should i put on my skin to treat it? i hate it because like all of my friends have this gorgeous skin and i have really bumby skin. DID I MENTION I HATE IT??!!
Chicken skin........?
I know what your talking about, because i have it too on the back of my arms and back of my thighs. I went to my dermatologist and they gave me some sort of acidic lotion to put on it. regular lotion wont change it, as i have had it for over 10 years. see what your dermatologist says.
Reply:Try Aveeno Extra Dry Skin Relief,or Intensive Relief, use overnight formula at night to heal faster..It works really well and is worth the money.
Reply:have cold showers and moiturise twice a day

Help! I can't tell what my skin undertones are!?
I have a weird mixture of undertones on my face and I can't tell whether I'm a warm or cool or anything! My cheeks are a very bright red (but I THINK it's because I have keratosis pilaris and the bright red cheeks is a side effect, but my mom says I get it from my dad who also has red cheeks but he doesn't have the skin condition that I have) Anyways, while my cheeks are red, the rest of my skin has, it's hard to describe, but it's like a white-yellow undertone. ( I guess from my Native American ancestry). The rest of my skin has no pinkish coloring whatsoever. I also have light-brown hair and greyish-bluish eyes. So, can someone please tell me what exactly my season is and the name of my undertone would be. Thank you!

It's hard to tell what your season is from just that.
You sound like a summer, though.
Visit this site to find out for sure:

Usually if you have yellow undertones, the veins in your arms will appear green.
Reply:Native American heritage gives you pink undertones.
Look at the palms of your hands - that's the best way to tell whether you have pink or yellow undertones.
No one uses "seasons" anymore to describe tones. You are either warm or cool.
You sound cool toned to me (by eye color, I'm guessing you have a somewhat ash brown hair, and probably yellowish skin around your eyes if you're only pink on your cheeks).
Reply:You sound like a spring, but you could be a summer.

Would a dermatologist cure ?
would they cure keratosis pilaris
%26amp; white skin fungus on my back ?????????
Would a dermatologist cure ?
If you have keratosis pilaris, you are not alone. Worldwide, keratosis pilaris affects an estimated 40 to 50% of the adult population and approximately 50 to 80% of all adolescents. It CANNOT be cured, but treated.
AS for the fungus, a general doctor or dermatologist can prescribe you an ointment or pill to get rid of that. Usually a anti-fungal cream will get rid of it. Just make sure you are washing regularly and applying the cream to clean skin. Also, since the fungus may be on your clothing make sure to clean and sanitize your wardrobe, or it will come back. Good Luck
Reply:If they can. You don't have any other choices.

1 simple question?
do u know how to get rid of "chicken skin bumps" also called keratosis pilaris? they're on my arms, and I had them for 6 years. "chiken skin bumps" are acne like bumps that get on your arms or legs and stay there. If you can give me advice on what lotion or soap I should use to heal these embarresing bumps! I'm going to my friend's party and I want to use a short sleeve shirt but how? give me advice please!
1 simple question?
You can try an anti-blemish cream. I highly recommend Timeless Prescirptions Anti-Blemish cream. You can get it at:
http://www.marketamerica.com/tkshopintl
Reply:Use an exfoliating soap...or body wash, and a thick lotion. A more expensive lotion...when it comes to that kind of stuff you get what you pay for. It will take time so if your friends party is within the next couple days it wont make a difference but in the long run it will work. Trust me....I've had that problem my whole life.
Reply:You can soften and help slough off bumps by rubbing them with a mixture of equal parts petroleum jelly and either water or cold cream. If that doesn't work, prescription Retin-A probably will, but it can irritate the surrounding skin. A better alternative: prescription LactiCare-HC Lotion 2 1/2%, which contains lactic acid to dissolve dead skin cells and hydrocortisone to soothe any acid-induced irritation. Rub lotion onto bumps twice a day until they clear up.
Reply:this sounds like the question about "how to get a rid..." check those answers (udderlysmooth) or something else who you can buy in walgreens stores

Good Luck.
Reply:i have it too
and theres no "cure"
however there are treatments available which make it less apparent. it can even disappear completely in adulthood, lucy for us. regardless, exfoliation, intensive moisturizing cremes, lac-hydrin, Retin A and medicated lotions containing alpha hydroxy acids or urea may be used to temporarily improve the appearance and texture of affected skin. Milk baths may help. Sunlight may also be helpful.
i dont kno if this will help
especially in time for your friends party
i still wear short sleeve shirts
sometimes when theyre red i put powder on em
i dont kno if thats bad but it works

Best makeup routine (and products) for fair skin and red hair?
can anyone tell me what your makeup routine is if you have fair skin? I have red hair....also any good facial products like scrubs or anything to help keratosis pilaris( red bumps on your face, legs, upper arms and cheeks)?? please help! thanks
Best makeup routine (and products) for fair skin and red hair?
Hi gal,
I cleanse my face at night with a daily scrub from Aveeno -Skin Brightening. I use a moisturizer in the a.m. with 30 SPF - also from Aveeno. I use a richer Oil of Olay in the evening (no spf for sleeping).
I have combination skin and although I do have keratosis pilaris on my arms and a little on my legs, nothing on my face. You may need to investigate a gentle facial cleanser that is antibacterial. I use Cetaphil Antibacterial cleansing bar in shower/bath - body only. It does work on your keratosis. My dermatologist first gave me an antibiotic last year, and a 10 day Rx lotion to apply. She asked that I start using the cetaphil bar and the Cetaphil moisturizer for body. You certainly can try these two on your face, but if it is too drying, I would find another.
My makeup routine is fairly simple. Cleanse, moisturize, put a few dabs of concealer (under my eyes for me). If I want to do extra, I put one pump of primer on my face, with a sheer liquid foundation applied with brush. Dusting of powder. I wear some eyeshadow %26amp; mascara (soft black or brown-black), and usually a pencil liner on top lid. Use an angled brush to fill in my brows (mostly blonde brow) with a subtle taupe eyeshadow. Light blush, and some gloss or neutral lip color.
Reply:I have fair skin and strawberry blonde hair (blonde with red in it). This is my morning and night routine.
-wake up
-hop in the shower
-get out, blowdry and straighten my hair
-put on a cute outfit
-moisturize face with Aveeno clear complexion oil free
-apply Neutrogena liquid concealer for and red bumps, acne, and bags under my eyes
-apply bare minerals (foundation, mineral veil)
-apply bronzer and blush
-apply very THIN brown eyeliner
-blackish brown mascara
-lip gloss
-perfume and accessories
DONE!
I HIGHLY reccomend bare minerals. It works miracles on my face!
at night, I wash my face with st. Ives apricot scrub. I floss, brush, mouthwash, whiten. throw hair back into loose bun and pin bangs back.
hope i helped!
Reply:U should straigten ur hair

Reply:my friend lilly is totally pale and has this amazing red hair, and her eyelashes are also red (which is cool!!!) and she looks stunning when all she does is put on black mascara and maybe a little bit of black eyeliner. if its too harsh try brown eyeliner...
as for your hair, if its straight leave it straight but if its curly don't straighten it! red hair is amazing in curls!!!

Reply:I have fair skin and red hair as well. Basically in the mornings I use an exfoliating cleanser (I like the Regenerist one from Olay) and then follow with Olay's daily beauty fluid which had spf 15. I then use Bare Minerals foundation, Revlon's Colorstay eyeliner in Taupe and either gold or brown eyeshadows, then brown mascara (either Great Lash from Maybelline or Naturalle mascara in Ginger Brown from Just For Redheads) or an auburn mascara (either from Bare Escentuals or Just For Redheads). I also use strawberry blonde eyebrow powder from Bare Escentuals, it's the only stuff I've found that actually matches my eyebrows. I don't use blush, my cheeks are naturally red. I usually stay with just a neutral or clear gloss for my lips. In the evenings I use a makeup removing cleanser (I like the Lemongrass one from Booths) and then a good moisturizer (I use Total Effects from Olay).
I have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms and thighs and I use Olay's body wash for Extra Dry Skin along with an exfoliating poof. Once a week I scrub with a microdermabrasion scrub (I like the Green Apple one from Booths) and then moisturize really well with Aveeno body lotion. I've not had it on my face so I'm not sure what would work well there.
My favorite product lines are Just For Redheads and Bare Escentuals, they have colors that flatter my skin the best and have really good quality products.
